Is This What Bachelorhood Would Be Like? No Thanks

Hey all.

It's been a week since Abbie got home from Snowshoe to visit her mom. I was going to wait until she posted a blog about her week, but I'm here at work now, at 6:30AM, and we don't have any PT because of the crappy weather (although I'm glad I came in when I did because the roads are getting worse as the snow and ice increase...sucks to be the rest of the workers here that think they'll come in later when the conditions aren't supposed to clear up until noon). So, I thought I'd put my thoughts on the week.

If you don't know, Abbie and the boys went up to Snowshoe Resort to visit Abbie's mom on the week of the 7th thru the 12th. That left me at home because I had to work, and that was a week that I absolutely couldn't take time off.

Now, it's been over 4 years since I was single and living on my own (which, technically, wasn't on my own because I lived with my parents for a few years after leaving the Army, but that's not important). I've had someone in the house with me for the past 4 years, and kids in the house for the past 2.

Let me say it this way.

It was too quiet.

And the house finally stayed neat and tidy for longer than a couple of hours.

I'm sure there are some guys out there that would've relished having the house to themselves, but not me. Uh-uh. I had to space out throughout the week chores I wanted to get done. Of course, like a guy, I managed to find a way to NOT complete all the things I wanted to get done.

I learned that week that 1: I love my family and really enjoy being around them 2: I don't ever want to be single again because I think I'd go crazy without someone to talk to when I got home from work 3: I work too damned much because there were a few days that I would be at work before light and go home after dark, just because I didn't have anyone to go home to.

That was my fun week. Oh yeah, and we didn't have any new Netflix movies because what we did have on hand was a movie that Abbie wanted to see also but we didn't get to before she left...so watching a movie, which is what I would normally do, was out of the question. And unfortunately, we have nearly 500 channels on cable and not a friggin one carried anything to watch. Pathetic, y'know?

Cheers, y'all.

F'ing Spiders!

Anyone that's known me for any period of time knows how much I hate spiders. I'll scream like a little girl if a big enough spider comes near me...at this point, that size limit is any spider the size of my thumbnail or bigger. Please be warned about this new breed of spider...a crack spider. Dangerous, unpredictable, and have a tendency to overtake homes. I haven't seen any other than in this video.

Haymarket, VA - Long Park Playground Adventure

During our Christmas trip to Virginia we took the boys up to Long Park in Haymarket. We figured Grandpa Gene and Grandma Kathy would appreciate us trying to not let them totally wreck their house. After all the driving we'd done and were about to do we wanted them to burn off some energy. It was chilly but we had a blast. We had a new camera from Grandma and Grandpa so we were some picture taking fools!!
