Today Coop got a yo-yo as a gift at school. He decided that we all had to get in line and follow him dragging the yo-yo around. Cooper said, "Momma you go behind me because you are the youngest."

I was saying goodbye to our neighbor Enda and noticed Cooper had stormed off with his arms crossed. I asked him, "Cooper what are you doing over here? Don't you want to say goodbye to Edna?"

He shot me this horrible look and said, "No I had to walk away from you, you made me mad." Still not sure what I did :-)

Even better later that day I was trying to get them to clean up their playroom before taking a bath and Cooper said, "Momma please don't yell at me, you need to be respectful." Love it!

He's on a roll today. I am opening a dozen young coconuts, draining the yummy juice and then cracking open the top to scoop out the meat. Cooper asked to help and I told him no I wanted to speed through it and it was pretty hard. He asked oh about 50 more times so I thought you know just give him a lid and see what happens. First off he got the meat off faster than I did! (That will teach me!) Then he says, "I think we just needed teamwork today. Yeah let's just do teamwork ok?"

So this morning we are cleaning out the boys play room. We are making a two piles and trying to get organized. One pile is to give and the other is to keep. During the process I find this adorable night light I purchased from Pottery Barn before Cooper was born. It's a frog prince. It was broken :-( In a very bizarre fashion the metal piece does not appear to be twisted in any way but it will no longer fit the actual plug in part.

As I'm grumbling over it and trying to figure out how this could have happened Cooper says, "It's ok Momma I forgive you for breaking the frog prince!" I started laughing and said, "But I didn't break it one of you two did!" He replied, "No that's not possible but it's ok I really forgive you."

Coop is on a roll! Today I pulled out one of the two skirts I own to wear to church. I even put on a necklace and earrings. Coop came into the bathroom and paused for a minute then said, "Look you are a lady!" So for the next few hours he refused to call me Momma he would say, "Hey Lady!" and laugh and laugh and laugh!! When we got home and I changed he said, "ok now you are Momma again."

WOW! I need to dress up a bit more I think :-)

At 5:41 am I awoke to some horrible screaming on Bear's part. He wakes up from time to time lets out a scream and then goes back to sleep. These screams didn't stop so I went rushing in to find him with his arms up begging to get out of his crib. I try very hard to keep the morning snuggle sessions to after 7 am. If you've ever tried to sleep with these kids you'd understand why. But for some reason I said ok. Cooper popped up and said, "I go with you." I gave them the warning if they didn't go to sleep they would be going back to their own beds. I changed their diapers and as we snuggled in Cooper said, "Momma you miss Daddy?" I smiled and said, "Yes honey I miss Daddy." He was quiet for a minute and said, "Did you lose him?" I told him that, "No I hadn't lost him he was just at work for a while." He seemed to be ok with that and then they proceeded to kick and toss and turn and annoy me so they got booted back to their own beds. (I'm sure you can imagine how well that went over!)

This morning the boys climbed into bed with me Bear toting his lovely flashlight. (Thanks Bebba) He starts flashing it in our eyes and cackling....
Me: "Bear if you shine that in our eyes again I'm going to have to take the flashlight away."
Bear: Shines it in our eyes again with a decided glee.
Me: I take the flashlight away.
Bear: Crying commences.
Cooper: "Bear- you gotta say sorry!"
Bear: Crying suddenly stops, "Oh, sorrrryyyyy!"

At Lowes Today
Our last trip was supposed to be 45 minutes but turned into 4 hours and we still walked away without blinds. Coop had grown men on the floor playing cars with him it was very cute. Today though he decided that everyone needed hugs. An older woman in a sari was trying to catch up to her husband and Coop saw her and yelled, "Awwww give me a big hug!" and took off for her. Luckily she was receptive. He did scare one gentleman today as he attacked his leg. So we worked on him asking first before giving hugs to strangers. He seemed so disappointed.

Santa Claus also showed up at Lowes. He was obviously doing some last minute shopping but took the time to talk to the boys. Coop yelled after him, "Thanks for stopping Santa, see you sooooon!"

The boys woke up at the same time today. Coop woke up yelling out for, "Daddy!" about a million times. I went in and said, "Will Momma do?" Coop says, "Um," slight dramatic pause, "Yeah ok."

I pick Coop up and we go to get Bear. I say, "You want to go get your brother?" Coop responds, "Yeah brodder!"

I pick up Bear and in the dark we come back out into the living room. I hear a little thunk. Coop has hit his head on the thermostat! "Ooooof, owwwww!" says Coop. I ask, "You ok?" Coop says, "Yeah I ok."

Then on the other side Bear literally repeats about 4 times, "Oooooof, owwwww, ok!!!" Tooo cute.

I'm out in the living room doing some work while Jim is giving the boys a bath. I hear Jim in a very stern voice say, "Bear Monihan! Stop throwing things!"

On the way from the car to the apartment we have a path where the geese come by every morning and leave lots of treats or "stinkies" as we call them on our sidewalk. We live on the back of the apartment so we have to walk through a breeze way to get to the stairs.

Now every morning Cooper jumps over the "stinkies" and when he gets past them he yells, "Look momma we made it past the stinkies to get to the tunnel!" If you've ever had to watch Dora you'll find that amusing.

Sometime last week during our goop saga the tv was on cartoons almost all day. At one point Little Mermaid was on. Thats a show we don't usually watch. Coop was watching it intently so I left it on. There was a scene where the little lobster was flossing a big whales teeth and it started to sneeze and drag them all in.

Cooper says, "Ohhh mommy that's scary!"
"You want me to change it?"
"Yes."
Change the channel.
"Thanks mommy."

This morning I had to take Rocket Ship away because he kept banging it on the chairs trying to break it. He started crying and in his tears he said, "Mommy that's crying." I guess he wasn't sure if I would recognize the tears?
